Settings, privacy and security
Find your site settings
A short map of the Settings area in your site editor: your address, padlock, icons, privacy, backups, languages and more.
The editor keeps most of your site's general options together in one area. Here's a quick map of what's there and which article explains it.
Open it
- Log in to your site editor.
- In the side panel, click More.
- Click Settings.
Some settings are greyed out until your site is published.
What you'll find
| Where | What it's for | Read |
|---|---|---|
| Site Domain | Your site's address, a preview link you can share, and the unpublish button | Connect your website address to your site |
| Site SSL | The padlock and the secure address setting | What the padlock (https) means |
| Site Icons | The small icon in the browser tab, the picture shown when your site is shared and the home screen icon | Change the small icon in the browser tab |
| Privacy Settings | Your privacy page and the cookie notice | Add a privacy page to your site |
| Site Backup | Saved copies of your site | Save a backup before a big change |
| Site Language | Translates the built-in text that comes with some of your site's tools | Set your site's main language |
| 404 Page | What visitors see when a page can't be found | Change your "page not found" page |
| Google Analytics | Connects your Google Analytics account | Connect Google Analytics or Search Console |
| URL Redirect | Sends an old link to a new page | Send an old link to a new page |
Careful with these
- Unpublish takes your whole site offline until it's published again. Please email us before you click it.
- The preview link in Site Domain shows your site with changes that aren't live yet. It's handy for showing someone a draft.
Tips
- Settings that change the live site need a publish afterward. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
- Not every site has every setting switched on. If something on this list is missing for you, tell us.
