Change the small icon in the browser tab
Upload the tiny logo that shows beside your page title in a browser tab, so people can find your site among their open tabs.
The favicon is the tiny picture beside your page title in a browser tab. When someone has several tabs open, it helps them spot yours.
Before you start
- Use your logo or a simple mark from it. Fine detail is lost at this size.
- Pick one of three sizes, in pixels: 48 x 48, 36 x 36 or 24 x 24. A file ending in .ico works best.
- If you only have a regular logo file, email it to us and we'll prepare the icon.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor.
- In the side panel, click More, then Settings.
- Click Favicon & Social Images.
- Next to Favicon, click +Image.
- Choose your file.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
If you don't see the new icon
Your browser may be showing a saved copy of the old icon. Refresh the page, or clear your browser's saved data (its cache), and look again.
Good to know
- The same settings area holds two other pictures: the one shown when your site is shared (see Set the picture that shows when your site is shared) and the home screen icon (see Let visitors add your site to their phone's home screen).
- Changing a logo or designing a new one isn't a small change. We quote it in writing before we start.
Don't see this?
It may be turned off for your site. Ask us and we'll take care of it.
Need a hand?
Email your logo to hello@zossoz.com with your business name, and we'll take care of it. We reply within one business day. See Request a change.
