Change your site header

The header is the strip at the top of your pages. It holds your logo and your menu.

Change the look

1. Log in to your site editor.
2. Hover over the header and click Header.
3. Click Edit Design. The design panel opens beside the page.
4. Pick what to change:
   • Layout: how the logo and menu are arranged, including three-line phone-style menus.
   • Spacing: the room around and inside the header.
   • Background: a color or an image, plus borders and shadows.
   • Position: whether the header stays put as visitors scroll. See Keep the header at the top while visitors scroll.
5. Check the phone and tablet views too. Some changes made on one screen size carry over to the others.
6. Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.

Pick a different header layout

1. Click the header label.
2. In the floating menu, click Change Preset.
3. In the design panel, the Presets section opens. Choose the layout you want. Your background color and logo stay, but some other changes you've made may reset.

Save a backup first if your header took time to set up: Save a backup before a big change.

Add extra things to the header

Open Edit Design, and in the Layout section click Enable advanced editing. You can then add widgets and extra sections. Be careful: picking a different layout later removes what you added and turns advanced editing off. Because headers share changes across screen sizes, check all three after any edit.
