Hide the header or footer on one page
Hide the header or footer on a single page, or on all pages, and bring it back when you want it.
Some pages work better without the usual top menu or bottom links: a simple landing page, a page you print, a page you send by text. You can hide the header or footer there and leave every other page alone.
Hide the header
- Log in to your site editor and open the page.
- Right-click the header.
- Click Hide on this device.
- Choose From this Page Only, or From All Pages.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
Hide the footer
- Open the page and click the footer. A floating bar appears.
- Click Hide on Device.
- Choose This page or All pages.
- Publish.
You can also right-click the footer for the same choices. "Device" means the screen size you're looking at, such as computer or phone. Change sizes in the top toolbar to hide it on another one.
Bring it back
- In the side panel, click Layers.
- Find the header or footer in the list. A hidden one shows a crossed-out eye icon.
- Click that eye icon.
- Publish.
Layers only shows what's hidden on the screen size you're viewing. If you don't see it, switch sizes in the top toolbar and look again.
Good to know
- Hiding doesn't delete anything. Your header and footer are still there, just out of sight.
- With the header hidden, a visitor has no menu. Give them a button back to your home page, or a call button, so they aren't stuck.
- A hidden footer also hides whatever you keep in it, such as hours, address and links. Be sure the page still shows the details a customer needs.
- To hide a single item rather than the whole header, see Hide something on phones or on computers.
- Can't find something you hid? See Find and unhide hidden items.
