Make a list with pictures and links
Show a set of items, such as services, partners or products, each with a picture, a short description and a link.
A list widget lays out a set of items in a ready-made layout. Each item can have a picture, a label, a short description and a link. Use it for your services, your suppliers, or the classes you teach.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor and open the page.
- Add a List widget to the page. See Add a widget to a page if you need the steps.
- Click the list and open its content editor from the small menu.
- First choose whether each item should have an image and a link.
- Click Build your list.
- Type a title for the whole list in the Main list title field.
- Click Add Item for each entry you need.
- Click an item to open its settings. Then:
- Click + Image to add a picture.
- Type the Item label.
- Type a Description.
- Click Add link and choose where it should go.
- Type the Text on link, the words people click, such as "See the menu".
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
To hide a label, description or link text, click the eye icon beside it. To change the order, drag the three dots to the left of an item.
If you want to change whether items show pictures or links later, go back to the first screen and click click here to change elements.
Change how it looks
Open the list's design settings from the small menu.
- Layout picks how the items are arranged.
- List Title, Item Title, Item Description and Link control the text style for each part.
- Image changes the picture border and rounded corners.
- Divider adds a line between items.
Tips
- Use a similar picture shape for every item. The list looks tidier.
- Make link words say where they go. "See our wedding cakes" beats "Click here".
- For a restaurant menu with prices, use the menu block instead. See Build your menu with the restaurant menu block.
- For a plain bulleted list, see Make a bulleted or numbered list.
