Add a buy button to any page

Put a button on any page that adds a product to the cart in one tap, without sending shoppers through your store pages first.

If one product sells all the time, or you're promoting something special, you can put a button for it on your homepage or any page that isn't one of your store pages. A shopper can add the product to their cart right from that page.

Online stores are an add-on. If your site doesn't have one yet, ask us about adding it; we quote it in writing first.

Before you start

The product you link has to meet all of these:

  • Its status is Active.
  • It has stock available.
  • It has no options or variations, such as sizes or colors.
  • It isn't sold on a repeat schedule.

If a product doesn't meet these, link the button to its product page instead. See Change a button's link or wording.

Steps

  1. Log in to your site editor and open the page.
  2. In the side panel, click Add, then Elements.
  3. Search for Button and drag it to the spot you want.
  4. In the button's menu, choose Store Page.
  5. Set the button to Add product to cart and choose the product.
  6. Change the button's wording to say what it does, such as "Buy the gift box".
  7. Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.

Other things that can add to the cart

The same Add product to cart choice appears in the link settings for photo galleries, single images, icons, image sliders and lists. A photo of the product can add it to the cart when tapped, for example. See Add a button for the basics.

Tips

  • Use words that say what happens, such as "Add to cart" or "Buy now".
  • Test the button on your live page. Check that the right product lands in the cart.
  • If you add sizes or colors to the product later, it no longer meets the rules above. Point the button to the product page instead.
