Add a slider of customer quotes
Show kind words from your customers in a slider, one quote at a time, with or without a photo.
A slider of customer quotes lets visitors move through your customers' comments. It is a calm way to let customers speak for you.
Before you start
Use only words a customer gave you and said you could use, and keep their yes in writing (an email or a text is enough). Use the customer's own words, and don't change what they meant. Never write a quote yourself. To collect them, see Ask your customers for reviews.
If a quote includes a photo of the customer, get their yes for the photo too.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor and open the page.
- Add the Media Slider widget where you want it. See Add a widget to a page.
- Click the slider, then choose the content option in the small menu that appears. You can also right-click it and choose Edit Content.
- Click Delete All to clear the sample slides.
- Click Add Slide. The new slide opens with its own settings.
- For the words, type the customer's quote and their name. Use the slide's title and description fields. Use the name the customer agreed to, such as "Maria S.".
- If you have a photo of the customer, click Click to add media and add it. Leave this out if you don't have one. A quote on its own works fine.
- Repeat from step 5 for each quote. Drag the slides into the order you like.
- Open the design settings: choose the design option from the small menu, or right-click and choose Edit Design. Click the layout thumbnail and pick a layout:
- The default layout is best when you have no customer photos. It comes with a tinted overlay and a background color, which you can change in the media and background settings.
- A layout with the customer's photo above the quote.
- A layout where slides move up and down, with the photo on the left and the quote on the right.
- Look at the phone preview and make sure each quote can be read in full.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
Tips
- Keep each quote to a sentence or two. Long ones are hard to read on a phone.
- Set Slideshow speed slow enough to read a whole quote. See Add a slideshow of photos or video for the speed and autoplay settings.
- Keep their words as they wrote them. If a typo needs fixing, ask the customer first.
- A slider holds up to 25 slides.
