Photos, video and files

Add a slideshow of photos or video

Show photos or short videos one after another in a slider, with optional words and a button on each slide.

A slideshow moves through your photos or short videos, on its own if you turn on autoplay. Slides can also carry a heading, a few words and a button.

Before you start

  • A slideshow holds up to 25 slides.
  • It takes photos and video files. Videos play silently, as the picture behind the slide's words.

Steps

  1. Log in to your site editor and open the page.
  2. Add the Media Slider widget where you want it. See Add a widget to a page.
  3. Click the slider, then choose the content option in the small menu that appears. You can also right-click it and choose Edit Content.
  4. Click Add Slide. A new slide opens with its own settings.
  5. Click Click to add media and choose a photo or video. To make several slides at once, use Add Multiple Files. Each file becomes its own slide.
  6. Use Position to choose which part of the photo or video shows.
  7. Fill in Alt text for each photo, a short description of what it shows. See Write alt text in plain words.
  8. Type the slide's title and description if you want words on it. Leave a field blank and it stays hidden.
  9. If you don't want the slide's button, click its eye icon to hide it.
  10. Repeat for each slide.

To change the order, drag a slide to a new spot. Hover over a slide to duplicate it or delete it with the trash can. Delete All clears every slide.

A link on a slide makes the whole slide tappable, hidden button or not.

Set how it moves

Open the design settings (the design option in the small menu, or right-click and choose Edit Design).

  • Click the layout thumbnail to change the layout, and use the drop-down beside it to set Number of columns.
  • Under the transition settings, choose Fade or Slide, switch Autoplay on or off, set the Slideshow speed from 1 to 20 seconds, and choose Pause slideshow on hover.
  • Turn on Display full media to show each photo uncut. It may leave empty space at the edges.

Finish

Check the slideshow in the phone preview, then publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
