Edit text, buttons and sections
Publish your changes
Your edits only show to visitors after you publish. Here is where the button is, what to check first and what to do if you can't find it.
When you change something in your site editor, visitors don't see it yet. Your changes go live when you publish. Do it as the last step of every editing session.
Steps
- Finish your changes on the page.
- Look them over with a preview. See Preview your changes before you publish.
- In your site editor, click Publish. On a site that's already live, it may read Republish.
- Open your site in a new browser tab and check the page you changed.
If you can't see your change, refresh the page. If it's still the old version, tell us.
If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
Good to know
- Publishing puts every change on every page live at once, so don't leave half-finished edits when you publish.
- Changes to the header, the footer or the look of the whole site go out when you publish the whole site. So do changes to a page's web address.
- To put one page live without touching the rest, or to keep a page off the site for now, see Publish one page, or keep a page as a draft.
- You can still edit from a phone or tablet. You'll see the computer version of the editor.
- Published something by mistake? See Undo a change and Restore an earlier version of your site.
