Publish one page, or keep a page as a draft
Put one finished page live without touching the rest, or set a page aside as a draft so visitors can't see it yet.
You don't have to publish the whole site every time. You can put one finished page live on its own, or keep a page as a draft until it's ready.
Don't see this?
It may be turned off for your site. Ask us and we'll take care of it.
Publish just one page
This updates a page that's already live. It doesn't publish a brand-new page.
- In the side panel, click Pages.
- Click the three dots icon next to the page.
- Click Publish page. Once it's live, a calendar icon marks the page as published by itself.
What to know first:
- Changes to the header, footer or the look of the whole site don't go out with a single page. Publish the whole site for those.
- A new web address for a page also needs the whole site published.
- If your site has more than one language, each language is published separately.
- A backup is saved each time you publish a single page.
Keep a page as a draft
A draft isn't on the live site and can't be found through search. Use it for a page you're still working on, or one you want to take down for a while without deleting.
- In the side panel, click Pages.
- Click the three dots icon next to the page.
- Click Set as a draft. If the page is in your menu, it comes out of the menu.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you. Once your site is live, that button may be labeled Republish; clicking it takes this page off your site.
To bring it back:
- Open Pages and click the three dots icon next to the page.
- Click Stage draft for publish. It returns to the menu.
- Click Republish to put it on the live site.
Your home page, links to other websites and folders can't be drafts. If you draft a menu item that has pages under it, those pages drop out of the menu too.
A page shows "not found" after you publish?
It's most likely still a draft. Follow the steps above to bring it back, then publish again.
