Add a printable coupon
Put a coupon on a page that customers can print or show on their phone, with your own offer, terms and expiry date.
A coupon element puts an offer on your page. A customer can print it or show it on their phone. Those are the only two ways it can be used, so it isn't a code to type at an online checkout.
Before you start
- To put a coupon on a page, add the Coupon widget, the same way you add any widget (see Add a widget to a page), or email us the page and where it should go, and we'll add it.
- Decide the offer and the fine print, such as "One per customer" or "Dine-in only".
- This coupon doesn't count how many people use it. If you need a count, keep one at the counter.
- If your site has an online store, use the store's own coupon codes there. See Create a coupon code.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor and open the page with the coupon.
- Click it and open the content settings from the toolbar.
- Choose Default Coupon to build one here, or Image Coupon to use a coupon picture you already have. For an image, click + Image and choose it.
- For a default coupon, fill in Offer, Main Message and Terms & Conditions.
- Type the Text on button and a Title.
- Turn on Show share buttons if you want people to be able to share it on social media.
- Choose an Expiration date. From that date on, the coupon shows the word "Expired".
- Type a Coupon Name. Only you see it.
- To change the layout, colors or effects, open the design settings from the toolbar.
- Preview the page, then try printing it.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
Tips
- Add the last day to the terms too, so customers see it before the coupon expires.
- Keep the offer to one line. "Free drink with any lunch entree" reads faster than a paragraph.
- Check how it looks on a phone, since customers can show it on their screen.
- Take it down once the offer is over.
