Track your stock

Stock tracking tells your store how many of a product you have, so you don't sell what you can't deliver.

Online stores are an add-on. If your site doesn't have one yet, ask us about adding it; we quote it in writing first.

Choose how to track

You have two ways to keep count:

• Automatic. Switch on Track Inventory and let the store do the counting. With sizes or colors, you set the count for each version.
• By hand. Leave Track Inventory off. You mark the product in stock or out of stock yourself, and can add a code in the SKU field.

Stock tracking is for physical products. For a service with limited spots, such as a class, the same section is called Attendees limit.

Steps for one product

1. Log in to your site editor.
2. In the side panel, click Store, then Catalog, then Product Catalog.
3. Click the product and scroll to the Inventory section.
4. To count by hand, leave Track Inventory off. Use the Status menu to mark the product in stock or out of stock, and type a code in the SKU field if you use them.
5. To let the store count, turn Track Inventory on and enter how many you have.
6. Click Save.

Steps for sizes and colors

Each size or color can have its own count.

1. Open the product and turn Track Inventory on.
2. Scroll to Manage Variants and click Manage Variants.
3. Type the stock for each version in its Inventory field.
4. Click Apply, then Save.

Find products by stock

In the Product Catalog, click Filter and narrow the list by stock status. It's a quick way to see what to reorder.

Tips

• Update the count whenever a delivery arrives or you sell something in person.
• Changing many counts at once? See Edit many products at once, or email us the list and we'll update it.
• Want sold-out products hidden, a note when stock runs low, or pre-orders when something sells out? Email us and we'll check what your store offers.
