Add sizes, colors and other options

If a mug comes in three sizes and two colors, make one product and add the sizes and colors as options. Shoppers pick what they want on the product page.

Online stores are an add-on. If your site doesn't have one yet, ask us about adding it; we quote it in writing first.

Before you start

• Options don't work on digital products.
• Your store has room for 20 options in total, shared by all your products, and up to 50 values for each option.
• Add every option before you touch the variants (see below). Adding an option later erases the variant changes you made.

Add an option

1. Log in to your site editor.
2. In the side panel, click Store, then Catalog, then Product Catalog.
3. Click the product.
4. In the Product options section, click +Add options.
5. Type a name, such as Size. Shoppers see it as a label above the choices.
6. Type the values, separated by commas, such as Small, Medium, Large.
7. Click Add, then Save.

You don't have to rebuild an option for every product. One you've already made is ready to use again, and each product can have its own values for it. A hat and a jacket can both use Size, each with its own values.

The choices show on the product page in a drop-down menu. If you'd like round buttons instead, ask us. If the options box isn't on the page, ask us and we'll add it.

Change or remove values

1. Open the product and find Product options.
2. Click the three dots next to the option and choose Edit option values.
3. Type new values separated by commas, or remove one by clicking the X beside it.
4. Click Apply, then Save.

To remove a whole option, choose Delete option from the same menu, click Delete, then Save. Its values go with it.

Set a price, photo or stock count per version

Each combination of choices, such as large and green, is a variant.

1. Open the product, scroll to Manage Variants and click Manage Variants.
2. Edit what you need:
   • Image: a photo of this version.
   • Price difference: the amount to add or take off the base price. Type +2 for 2 more, or -2 for 2 less.
   • Inventory: how many you have, when stock tracking is on.
   • SKU: your stock code. It copies from the main product unless you change it.
   • Off/On: switch a version off to hide it from your store.
3. Click Apply, then Save if the page shows a Save button.

Tips

• Want customers to type their own words, such as an engraving, or upload a file? That's Product Customizations, under Catalog. Ask us and we'll set it up.
• Variant type and variant price can't be edited. They come from your options and the main price.
