Find and unhide hidden items
Something missing from a page? It may be hidden on that screen size. Here is how to find hidden items and show them again.
If a button, photo or section you remember isn't on the page, it may be hidden on the screen size you're looking at. Hidden items aren't deleted. You can show them again in a few clicks.
Before you start
Switch to the screen size where the item is missing, using the device icons in the editor. Showing an item only changes the screen you're currently editing.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor and open the page.
- In the side panel, click Layers.
- Find an item with an eye icon that has a line through it. That means it's hidden on this screen size.
- Click the crossed-out eye. The item shows again.
- Switch to the other device views and check them.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
If an item is hidden on only some screens
You can also use the item's own menu. Click the item, click the three dots icon in the small menu, and click Hide from. Or right-click the item and click Hide from. The screens where it's hidden are marked in orange. Click one of them to show the item there.
An item that is hidden on all screens, or on the screen you're editing, has no menu to click. For those, use Layers.
Tips
- If you can't find an item on any list, it may have been deleted rather than hidden. See Undo a change, or ask us to bring it back.
- Hiding is handy when you want something on phones only. See Hide something on phones or on computers.
