Edit on your phone
Edit your site from a phone or tablet
What to expect when you edit on a phone or tablet, which jobs suit it and when it's quicker to email us.
You can edit your site from a phone or tablet. There used to be a separate phone version of the editor. It's gone. Now a phone or tablet shows the same editor you'd see on a computer, and the guides in this Help Center describe it.
What to expect
- Same editor, smaller screen. It has the same menus and labels as on a computer. A phone screen is small for it, so a laptop is easier for anything bigger than a quick fix.
- On an iPad, you see the computer layout while you edit. Anything made only for tablet size won't show there.
- Some guides say "right-click." If you can't find the matching option on your phone, email us instead of struggling with it.
Jobs that suit a phone
Small, quick ones: a new phone number, a corrected price, one new photo you just took. For these, see Edit text on a page and Add a photo from your phone.
Steps
- Open your browser on the phone or tablet and log in to your site editor. See Log in to your site editor.
- Open the page and find the thing you want to change.
- Make the change.
- Check how it looks before you publish. See Preview your changes before you publish.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
When emailing us is quicker
For several changes, a new page, many photos or anything you'd rather not do on a small screen, email us. Send the page, the exact words and any photos. See Request a change and Send us photos and files.
Tips
- To see what customers see, open your live site on your phone. See Check how your site looks on a phone.
- Don't save your login on a phone you share. See Keep your logins safe.
- For your numbers, see Find your site's numbers on the dashboard.
