Edit text, buttons and sections
Put text next to a photo
Use a text and photo block so your words sit beside a picture, on the left or the right.
The text and photo block puts a picture and a paragraph side by side, with the words wrapping around the picture. It suits an About section, a service with a photo, or a short story about your business.
Add the block
- Log in to your site editor and open the page.
- In the side panel, click Add, then Elements.
- Search for Text & Image and drag it onto the page, where you want it.
For more on adding items, see Add a widget to a page.
Fill it in
- Click the block. A small floating menu appears.
- In that menu, choose the option for editing the block's content.
- Under Image Position, choose Left or Right.
- Click the photo, or click Replace, and choose a picture in the picker that opens.
- Write a short description of the photo in the Alt text box. See Write alt text in plain words.
- Type your words in the Paragraph box. You can use bold, italic and underline there.
- Preview the page, then publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
Change the size and look
- Click the block and choose Edit Design from the floating menu.
- Change the size or position of the photo, add a border to the photo or around the whole block, or adjust the text style.
- Turn on Keep proportions before you resize the photo, so it doesn't stretch.
Tips
- The photo can link somewhere. In the content settings, choose the link option for the image and pick a page, a popup, an email address or a file. See Make a photo link to a page or file.
- Look at the block in the phone preview. Narrow screens give wrapped text less room.
- Pick a sharp, bright photo. See Take good photos with your phone.
