Add a tap-to-email button

Add a button that opens a new email to your address, and why a contact form may suit you better.

A tap-to-email button prompts the visitor's phone or computer to start a new message addressed to you. It's quick for customers who prefer email to a form.

Before you decide

The address on the button is out in the open. Anyone who visits the page, spammers included, can collect it. If you'd rather keep your address private, use a contact form instead: Add a contact form.

Steps

  1. Log in to your site editor and open the page.
  2. Open the widgets list in the side panel and drag the Click to Email widget where you want it.
  3. Click it to open its floating menu, then open its content settings. You can also right-click it and choose Edit Content.
  4. Enter the email address.
  5. Type the words for the button, such as "Email us".
  6. Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.

Keep it on screen

Click Edit Design in the floating menu and turn on Floating. Choose where it sits. Turn on Show on this page only if you don't want it on every page.

Tips

  • Some visitors' devices don't know what to do with an email link. Show your address as plain text near the button too, so they can copy it.
  • Use an address that belongs to the business, not a personal one.
  • Test the button on your phone and on a computer after you publish. It should open a new message with your address filled in.
