Show your X posts on your site
Show your business's latest X posts on a page. Changes at X can stop it working, so know what to do if it goes blank.
The X feed widget shows your latest posts on a page. It updates by itself when you post. Changes at X can make the widget stop working. Here's how to set it up, and what to do if it does.
Before you start
- Use your business's X account, not a personal one.
- The account must be public. A private account only shows for visitors who happen to be signed in to X in another tab of their browser.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor and open the page.
- Add the X feed widget. It may be listed as Twitter Feed. See Add a widget to a page.
- Click the widget, then choose its content settings from the small menu that appears.
- Type your X user name.
- Choose the type of feed from the dropdown.
- To show the header and footer, switch on Show header and footer.
- Click the widget again and choose its design settings. Use the Number of tweets to display dropdown to choose how many posts show.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
- Open the page on a computer and a phone to check that your posts appear.
If it goes blank
Changes at X can stop the widget from showing posts, and that isn't something you did wrong. Email us the page and your X user name. We'll look at the page and try another way to show your posts.
Tips
- If you post on X rarely, consider a link instead. An X icon that links to your account is a simple alternative. See Add social media icons.
- The widget only shows what you post on X. We don't post for you.
