Change a page's web address and settings
Where to find a page's settings, how to change its web address and what to do about old links.
Every page has its own settings. A common one is the web address: the ending that comes after your site's name, such as the part for your catering page.
Open a page's settings
- Log in to your site editor.
- In the side panel, click Pages.
- Beside the page's name, click the three-dot icon.
Change the web address
- In the page's settings, click Page URL.
- Change the address ending.
- Publish the whole site. Publishing a single page does not apply a new address. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
What happens to the old address
If the old address was saved or shared anywhere, see Send an old link to a new page. Also check that any link on your own pages uses the new address.
The other settings in that menu
- Rename: changes the name in the editor, not the address. See Rename or reorder your pages.
- Show or Hide from navigation: see Hide or delete a page.
- Duplicate: makes an exact copy of the page.
- Edit page SEO: the title and description search engines show for this page. See Set a page's search title and description.
- Set as Home Page: swaps the page in as your home page. The old home page stays as a regular page and needs a new address. Links that pointed to the old home page are not updated, so check them.
- Set Access: see Put a password on a page.
- Set as a draft and Delete: see Hide or delete a page.
The home page, menu headings (folders) and links to other sites can't be set as a draft.
