Check the business details search engines read

Check the business name, address, phone and hours your site shares with search engines, and keep them the same everywhere.

Behind the scenes, your site can share your business details with Google and other search engines: your name, what kind of business you are, where you are, how to reach you and when you're open. It reads them from one place in your editor, so you only fill them in once. We can't promise rankings, traffic, calls or sales, but accurate details help Google understand who you are and where you work.

Steps

  1. Log in to your site editor.
  2. In the side panel, click CMS, then Business Data, then Business Info.
  3. Check Business name. It should match your sign.
  4. Check Business type, if you see it.
  5. Check Address. Pick your address from the list that appears.
  6. Check Phone Number, Email and Business Hours.
  7. If you go to your customers and have no storefront, switch on My business doesn't have a physical store front, then pick the places you cover under Area Served (up to 20). This hides your street address from the business details your site shares with search engines. It doesn't remove it from your pages.
  8. Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.

Tips

  • Your name, address, phone and hours should read the same here, on your Google profile and on your sign. See Update your hours and Connect your Google profile to your site.
  • Search engines get the details for your main location only, and only from your homepage. If you have more than one location, ask us.
  • The About Us text under Business Text and the first 5 pictures under Business Images can be shared as well. Keep them current.
  • Changing a detail here can change places on your site that are connected to it. See Connect text or a photo to your business details.
  • Moved, changed your number or added a service area? Update this the same day.
