Check which browsers work with your editor

The editor and your live site both work best in an up-to-date browser. Here is what's supported, and what to try if something misbehaves.

Editing your site

On a tablet or phone you can't add new items to a page, such as buttons or galleries. Use a computer for that.

Internet Explorer doesn't work with the editor. Beta versions of browsers aren't supported either.

What your visitors need

Your live site works in the latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari on a computer or tablet, and of Chrome and Safari on a phone. Internet Explorer isn't supported.

A very old browser, one built on Chromium version 120 or earlier, shows an error instead of your site. If a customer tells you that happened, ask them to update their browser.

Some tablets show the phone version of a site by default. To see the full version, turn on Request Desktop Site in the tablet's browser settings.

If the editor acts up

1. Update your browser to the latest version, then try again.
2. Turn off any extensions you've added to your browser, then try again.
3. Make sure JavaScript is switched on in your browser. The editor needs it.
4. Open the editor in a second supported browser. If the problem only happens in one, make sure that one is fully updated.
5. Still stuck? Email us the page, the browser you use and what you saw on screen.

Tips

• Fonts can look a little different from one browser to the next. That's how browsers draw text, and it doesn't mean something is wrong with your site.
• Bookmark your login page in the browser you use most, so you open the editor in the same place each time.
