Bookings and reservations
Add an OpenTable reservation button
Put a button on your site that lets guests reserve a table through your existing OpenTable account.
If your restaurant already takes reservations through OpenTable, you can put a reservation button on your site. It connects to your OpenTable account, so guests can reserve a table from your page.
Before you start
- You need an existing OpenTable account for your restaurant. The button connects to it.
- Have your OpenTable Restaurant ID ready. If you can't find it, ask OpenTable, or tell us and we'll help.
- To put the button on a page, add the OpenTable widget, the same way you add any widget (see Add a widget to a page), or email us the page and where it should go, and we'll add it.
Steps
- Log in to your site editor and open the page with the button.
- Click the button. In the small toolbar that appears, open the content settings.
- Under Text on button, type the words, for example "Reserve a table".
- Pick your region from the drop-down.
- Type your OpenTable Restaurant ID.
- If you have more than one location, click + Add location and repeat.
- Preview the page and try the button.
- Publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.
Change how it looks
Click the button, then open its design settings from the toolbar. You can change the style, spacing and layout there, as you would for any button. See Add a button.
Tips
- Put the button where hungry people look first: near the top of the homepage and on your menu page.
- Use plain words on it. "Reserve a table" beats "Click here".
- Check the button on your phone too.
- Keep the hours on your site right too. See Update your hours. For questions about your OpenTable account, contact OpenTable.
Need a hand?
Email hello@zossoz.com with your business name and your OpenTable Restaurant ID, and tell us which page the button should go on. We'll take care of it. It counts as one of your small changes for the month. We reply within one business day. See Request a change.
