Add photos and video to a blog post

A post has a main picture, plus any photos and videos you add in the text. The main picture is set in the post's details. Everything else is added the way you'd add it to a page.

The main picture

1. Log in to your site editor.
2. In the side panel, click Blog, then Manage Posts.
3. Click the Edit icon next to the post.
4. Click the Post Settings icon.
5. For Post main image, click +Image and choose or upload a picture. If the post already has one, click Replace.
6. Publish the post again so the change shows. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.

Photos inside the text

Open the post with Edit, then add pictures the way you would on a page. Each photo needs its own Image widget, so add as many as the post needs. See Add or replace a photo and Add a widget to a page. Add a short description to each photo. See Write alt text in plain words.

A video

Add a video widget in the same way. See Add a video.

Tips

• Changes made inside a post only change that post. Your other posts keep their own pictures.
• A post also has a separate thumbnail, set along with its search details. See Set a blog post's search title and description.
• Use photos you took or have permission to use. Get a person's OK before you show them.
