Change how prices and currency show

Unless you change it, your store writes prices to suit each visitor's browser. If you'd rather every shopper see prices written the same way, you can set the format yourself.

Online stores are an add-on. If your site doesn't have one yet, ask us about adding it; we quote it in writing first.

Before you start

• You can set a format for one currency only.
• The format you choose applies everywhere: the store pages, checkout and customer emails. It can't change by visitor.

Steps

1. Log in to your site editor.
2. In the side panel, click Store, then Business Settings.
3. Click Business Profile.
4. Scroll down to Regional Settings and click Edit Currency Format.
5. In How to show the currency?, check the symbol. It starts out filled in with your store's usual symbol.
6. Under Currency symbol position, choose whether the symbol comes before or after the price.
7. Open Choose your preferred decimal point format and pick how thousands and decimals are written. For a US store, the right preset is the one that writes 1,234.56, with a comma after the thousands and a dot before the decimals. If none of the presets fit, choose Customize.
8. To drop the cents on whole prices, tick Hide trailing zeros. A price of 40.00 then shows as 40.
9. Click Save.

To go back to the original format, click Reset to default.

Tips

• After you save, look at a product page and the checkout to make sure prices read the way you expect.
• Hiding trailing zeros only removes zeros at the end of a price, so 24.99 keeps its cents.
• If a price looks wrong afterward, use Reset to default and tell us. We'll fix it.
