Google and search
Add your site link to your Google profile
Check or change the Website line on your Google profile so customers can tap through to your new site.
Your Google profile is where many customers meet you first. A link to your website lets them tap through to your menu, services or story. At launch we can add the link for you if you've invited us as a manager. This is how to do it yourself, or check that it's right.
Check it first
Search for your business name on your phone, signed out. On the profile, look for a Website button. Tap it. If it opens your new site, you're done.
Add or change the link
- Sign in to the Google account that runs your business profile.
- Search for your business name, or open Google Maps and choose Business.
- Choose Edit profile.
- Find the Website line. It's usually with your contact details.
- Enter your full address, starting with https://. Copy it from your site's address bar so it's exactly right.
- Save.
Google may review changes before they appear. It can take a day or two. Google's wording and buttons change from time to time, so yours may look a little different.
Check your other details while you're there
- Hours: match your website exactly. See Update your hours.
- Phone number: the same as on your site.
- Business name: as it appears on your sign.
Good to know
- If you invited us as a manager at launch, we use that access only to add the site link. Then we remove ourselves about a week after launch.
- Your Google profile, its hours, photos, posts and reviews stay in your hands. We don't run it for you.
- If the Website button opens the wrong page, tell us. It's usually a typo in the link.
- Some business categories have extra buttons for ordering or booking. Those are set in the same Edit profile screen.
Why bother
Customers who find you through Google can reach your full menu, services and contact page in one tap. We can't promise how many people will tap it, but those who do land somewhere useful.
Need a hand?
If you've added us as a manager, tell us and we'll add the link. Otherwise follow the steps above. It takes about two minutes. Questions? Email hello@zossoz.com.
