Add a service

What to write for a new service, how to add it to your Services page and when it deserves a page of its own.

A new service is easy to add when it goes on a page you already have. Here is how to write it so a customer understands it at a glance.

What each service needs

Four things, in this order:

  1. A plain name. "Gel manicure", "Water heater replacement", "Tax return for a small business". Use the words a customer would use.
  2. One or two sentences on who it's for and what they get.
  3. What's included or how long it takes, if you know. Leave it out if it varies a lot.
  4. A price or "starting at", only if you want one shown. "Ask for a quote" is a fine answer.

Gel manicure. Shaped, buffed and finished in the color you pick, with cuticle care. About 45 minutes.

Steps

  1. Write the four things above in a note, with the exact words you want.
  2. Log in to your site editor and open your Services page.
  3. Copy the last service on the page. Change its name, its description and its price.
  4. Keep the same style as the others: same length, same punctuation.
  5. If you have a button, point it where the others point (to your booking or contact page).
  6. Check it on the phone preview, then publish. If you don't see a Publish button, tell us and we'll publish it for you.

When a service needs its own page

Most services fit as a new line on your Services page. If a service has a lot to say, such as catering, a big repair job or a package with several steps, it may deserve a page. See Ask for a new page. Your plan holds a set number of pages, and an extra one is quoted in writing before we build it.

Good to know

  • Only list what you really do today. If you're not ready to take customers for it, wait.

Need a hand?

Email hello@zossoz.com with the details above. We'll write it in the same style as the rest of the page, and send it back for you to check before it goes up if you ask us to.
